It's sometimes difficult to move forward in life when you feel hopeless, directionless, and unsure of your abilities.  At OhioMeansJobs - Guernsey County , we provide a variety of services that can help people build the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need in order to succeed.

 

Career Services

Career services are available to the public at no charge and includes the use of our Resource Room, where you can look through job postings, access a wealth of job search information, and utilize computers and phones for job search activities. The resource room is open 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday.

  • Career Assessment - Careers 101 Assessment with OMJ staff.  Helps you assess what you need to reach your employment goals, develop a solid plan for success, and determine if enrollment in the Comprehensive Case Management & Career Program (CCMEP) might be right for you. 
  • Solutions A.B.L.E - Need your GED or thinking about College? Solutions is a class designed to prepare you for the GED or for College Placement Testing.  The class is FREE and has both Bucyrus and Galion locations.  Sign up at our front desk for a no-pressure assessment.  Additional GED information available at www.education.ohio.gov
  • Education & Training Information - Brochures and program offerings of many area colleges and vocational schools.
  • Financial Aide Information - How to apply for federal financial aide through the FAFSA
  • Labor Market Information - Get the data you need to make smart career decisions
  • Fax & Mail Service - Mail or fax out applications and resumes to employers
  • Employer recruitments - Hiring happens here every week!
  • Practice Interviewing- By appointment with career staff
  • Community Resource Information - Find out what other services are available in our area
  • Resume Assistance - Resources and assistance to prepare an effective resume
  • Unemployment - Information on how to apply for Unemployment Compensation

Comprehensive Case Management & Employment Program (CCMEP)

Adult Program

The overall goal of our adult program is to increase the employment, retention, earnings potential, and occupational skill attainment of participants, and, as a result, improve the quality of the workforce, reduce welfare dependency, and enhance the productivity and competitiveness of our Nation.

CCMEP assists people locate job opportunities, find better jobs, gain new skills, and upgrade existing skills, in order to reach personal and professional goals. Is additional training the answer for you?  Maybe,but there are many factors to consider.  Attend one of our Careers 101 orientations to explore the possibilities and learn more about our Career Advancement Program.


Do you need a job now?  Our Career Advisors are here to help you.  By providing helpful job-seeking tips and avenues for exploration, we can help you develop “the edge” you need to succeed.

CCMEP serves Dislocated Workers, Unemployed Individuals, Under-Employed Individuals, and Youth between the ages of 14-24.


To begin planning your career, please complete and submit the Careers 101 Orientation Packet and you will be scheduled for the next available Careers 101 Orientation.  Orientation Packets are also available at our office or can be mailed to you upon request.  Give us a call at 740-432-2381.   

 

Youth Program:

CCMEP is intended to assist youth with serious barriers to employment in becoming self-sufficient through employment and education or training.  CCMEP Youth Staff are here to help you finish high school, get started in a higher education program, attain employment, keep the employment you already have, and help you find better employment.
